This program is designed to train Christians for ministry to marriages and families in the church and community. Graduates may minister in a variety of contexts including marriage, parenting and family ministries, lay counseling, Christian education, teaching, etc. Built on the foundation of biblical and theological reflection of marriage and family relationships, the program will train students to plan, design and implement marriage and family education ministries. The preventive nature of the program encourages student to think in terms of how can we as the church provide the resources and training necessary to prevent problems from developing in relationships. While the program does include several counseling courses, the focus is on building and strengthening relationships rather than healing broken relationships. |
